Cars and Vehicles Wrap

Wrapping a car professionally requires precision, experience, patience, and the right tools.
Precision Window Tint, a Las Vegas, NV-based company, is a renowned industry leader in providing exceptional cars and vehicles wraps.

1. Car Wrap: Planning & Design

  • Custom Design: Precision Window Tint project manager starts with a digital mockup of the car using specialized design software. This allows the team to visualize how the wrap will look and adjust colors, graphics, and branding elements.
  • Material Selection: We choose high-quality vinyl from the best film brand in USA, Llumar, known for their durability, finish options (matte, gloss, satin, chrome), and UV protection.
  • Measurements: Detailed measurements of the car’s surface are taken to ensure accurate cuts and minimal waste.

2. Car Wrap: Pre-Wrap Preparation

  • Deep Cleaning: The car is thoroughly washed with soap and water to remove dirt, grease, and wax. Even small particles can cause bubbles or imperfections in the wrap.
  • Surface Prep: Alcohol-based cleaners are used to ensure the surface is 100% clean. Any rust, paint chips, or dents are addressed because the wrap won’t hide these flaws.
  • Disassembly: Door handles, mirrors, badges, and other protruding parts are removed to make the surface as flat and smooth as possible.

The car shouldn’t be washed for at least 48 hours after application to allow the adhesive to fully cure.

3. Car Wrap: Cutting & Trimming the Vinyl

  • Pre-Cut Panels: We cut vinyl into manageable sheets or panels based on the car’s shape and size. Each section (like the hood, roof, and doors) gets its own piece of vinyl.
  • Leave Extra Margin: We cut the vinyl slightly larger than the surface area to account for stretching and wrapping around edges.

4. Car Wrap: Film Application

  • Positioning the Vinyl: The vinyl is laid over the car loosely at first. It’s held in place using magnets or tape to check alignment.
  • Adhesion: The wrap has an adhesive back that’s activated with pressure. Our tech slowly peels the backing off and apply the vinyl.
  • Squeegee Work: Using a felt-tipped squeegee, air bubbles and creases are smoothed out as the wrap adheres. Our team works from the center outward to ensure smooth application.

5. Car Wrap: Stretching & Contouring

  • Heat Application: Heat guns are used to make the vinyl more flexible. This helps it stretch over curved surfaces like bumpers and fenders.
  • Tension Control: We know how much to stretch the vinyl without over-stretching, which could cause discoloration or reduced durability.
  • Edge Wrapping: Vinyl is wrapped around edges and tucked into seams to ensure clean, invisible edges. This also prevents peeling.

6. Car Wrap: Trimming & Final Adjustments

  • Precision Cutting: Using razor-sharp knives, the excess vinyl is trimmed away. Cuts are made carefully along body lines to avoid cutting into the paint.
  • Edge Sealing: Edge sealer or primer may be applied to prevent edges from lifting over time.
  • Reassembly: Handles, mirrors, and other components are reattached.

Hand washing is recommended, as automatic car washes could damage the wrap. Wrap-safe cleaning products are used to maintain gloss and protection.

7. Car Wrap: Post-Wrap Curing

  • Heat-Set the Vinyl: Heat guns are used to “cure” the vinyl, ensuring it bonds properly to the car’s surface.
  • Final Inspection: Any air bubbles or imperfections are addressed. If needed, small punctures are made with a pin to release trapped air.
  • Cleaning: The car is wiped down with a soft, non-abrasive cloth to ensure the wrap looks flawless.
